Love this dutch oven! Well made and looks Beautiful. I was really surprised when I took it out of the box and felt how heavy it was. My wife Loves it and it was incredible inexpensive compared to the $200 and $300 name brand ones you see out there. We've bought a few of these over the years, of various brands, and only seem to get 5 or 6 years out of them before they start chipping. We've never broken down and bought the Le Creuset or Staub though. So maybe if we ponied up some dough we would have one that lasted longer. It just seems to me that enamel on cast iron has some inherent weaknesses that will always lead to scratching/cracking unless you barely cook with it and use it more as decoration than a pot. Anyway, this one seems just as good as any of the others we've bought. After a year it has a few fine scratches in the bottom, that I'm sure will lead to chipping in 5 years. Exactly what I expect for this price. These pots always deliver in flavor, ease of cooking and clean up! Just like cast iron, but better in many ways. Simmer your stews, chilis, and soups with no worries. Also handles pan frying and sauteing like a dream. I use mine weekly! For this being cast iron I was so impressed with the enamel being so easy to clean, inside and out. The color was perfect for what I was looking for.Initially concerned that cookery shipped in its original box with a delivery label and no external cardboard packaging, but it arrived intact and on-time, well double-packed and secured inside its original box. The only drawback: it was a surprise gift for someone in my household but since the sales box was exposed, it wasn't much of a surprise.Overall, pleased with appearance (Dimensions: 15 x 13 x 9 inches). Washed well in dishwasher. Cooks evenly and heats well on stovetop and/or inside oven. Used pot to first sear chicken (worked great); the added vegetables and broth (stew) did not stick.Rich blue color is true as shown. Enamel pot has a nice weight (13.8 pounds) and quality feel to it. Compared prices online for the same make and model and this item was at lower end of compared prices.AWESOME POT...HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!I have put off buying a Dutch Oven for a long time, due to price, size and construction. After seeing the past review done by "Cooks Magazine," I tracked down the Tramontina 6.5 Qt. Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven on-line. I have the Blue color, which makes a nice serving piece. The heat retention, easy clean-up make this pot a wonder to work with, whether on the stove top or in the oven. While heavy, it's not as weighty as some of the other, more famous "named brands" and certainly a lot cheaper. 5 Stars from me!!Steve BienenfeldI bought this to do a variety of things, but one of them is to deep-fry doughnuts, mostly one at a time. It certainly works for that, but it's on the large side, requiring a gallon of oil per use. I'll keep it, since it's a nice size when you need a dutch oven that's not small, but I may look for a 3.5 Wt enameled cast iron dutch oven to cook the doughnuts in.
