Powernail mallet caps are made in the USA from a similar premium rubber compound you would find in automobile tires. They have great resilience and tensile strength. The caps found on many imported mallets are made from inferior compounds which can cause the caps to chunk, crack & crumble early in their lifecycle. Powernail’s mallet caps are highly durable and have an outstanding resistance to abrasion. Iron may be easier to cast, but that is not the only reason we chose our ductile iron blend over steel for our mallet heads. Ductile iron has superior shock absorption that helps prevent injury during prolonged use. It also has a higher abrasion resistance than steel resulting in less wear when making contact with other surfaces. Our handles are made in the USA from genuine Tennesse Hickory. Hickory is known to be a natural shock absorber with a great balance of strength and flexibility, perfect for hand tool handles. Each handle is given a Vacuum Cup Grip and finished with a clear protective lacquer layer.
