I ordered two of these humongous 17” Cast iron deep dish. They are larger then the Lodge brand and $10 less for the same size. But DEEPER!!!?They are in fact HEAVY DUTY AND TAKE UP THE WHOLE 14lbs claimed. They do claim to be pre-seasoned, and if that is so it’s very light. So I will be adding extra coats of my own preseason. They are much larger then I expected and I just want that to be clear. I wanted BIG though. So if you do too, THIS IS THE CAST IRON you have been waiting for!! Don’t pass up on this incredible deal.Edit: So It’s been almost a year now. I have a 7 person family. At the time of purchasing I had 12 people living with me. I bought two because I way underestimated the size. I want big, hug. But until you have fed your family with one of these you really just can’t tell. When I was cooking for 12 I need both 17” skillets in order to have any left overs. We still use both, but rarely at the same time. One feeds my seven person’s family easily, usually with some sorts of leftovers behind. I use this cast iron almost on a daily basis. You do have to have some muscles to clean it. If you are very tiny you’ll have a lot of trouble maneuvering this thing around. I don’t believe in impossible, but it would definitely be difficult. It’s wonderful piece to my collection. And is holding up as new. This will be passed down through my family Some day, I’m sure of that. You can easily fit 2 maybe 3 whole chickens in this things. And it easily fits a 22 pound plus turkey. ?I stand by this product. If you’re looking for Super LARGE cast iron at a reasonable price, this is it.
