we bought the 80 pound set hoping to add more pieces to our home workout setup... these are 100% legit cast iron kettlebells. During shipping the 30 pound kettlebell had become damaged during transit, let the company know and they had a replacement in the mail the next day. If your looking for a great beginner set for various workouts this is a must... sure there are cheaper products out there but they are mostly plastic and cement, and even the smaller weights are huge ( 10 pound weight is literally basketball sized)... overall I'm extremely pumped with excitement about this product... I will 1000% come back for the heavier weights as time progresses and as we build our family's muscles together... As for the negative reviews most people are complaining about cosmetic damage during shipping, if your worried about how pretty your weights are as they sit on the floor not being used, might wanna re evaluate your decisions lol... thanks for the product 5 stars all day longGood job Amazon! for shipping a (my first) 35# kettlebell internal box, wrapping, nylon strap, external box was a little lose, tape ripped a little, but my KB arrived in perfect condition.I was a bit nervous, given the previous quality issues reported by other CAP buyers. This one is in great condition, no damage, good finish, nice flat bottom. I love swinging KBs, I have made great progress with strength & conditioning. I DO NOT recommend the vinyl/concrete KBs by CAP, (15-20# KBs)they are toys and are way too big and have handle problems. I sent those back. Buy the cast iron ones only! Before purchasing I sent a message to CAP asking about the handle/horn size, handle dia. is 1.5" (approx) and horn width is 7-3/4"any bigger might be too big for my hands. The size is very well proportioned and well balanced.Recommended!UPDATE 8/1/12 2nd orderToday, just received my 2 20# KBs, also iron by CAP. I put them through the paces! These are perfect weight for double-KB routines. Note, these also have big handles, about 1-1/2" in diameter. I like them for the challenging grip, smaller hands may not. These get slick when I start sweating, so I put some chalk on my hands between rounds. Product quality was good, finish good, packaging double-boxed, product box was strapped, lots of paper stuffing, my KBs arrived in perfect condition, thanks!UPDATE 8/29/12 MOAR Kettlebells Pleeezzz!Yesterday, I got my 4th KB, this one 25 lbs. See! I'm getting stronger, these really work! I swing 6 days/wk, never sore, always a great workout. 1-hand, 2-hand swing, snatch, clean, press, jerk, long cycle, windmill, Turkish get-up, bent press, various rows, floor presses, squats, deadlifts, lunges. Full body workout. Still very pleased with CAP quality and happy with my decision to collect this brand.I recommend this as the best book on kettlebell exercises: This review is for the 80lb Kettlebell. It's a kettlebell...it does what it's supposed to. However it is hard to grip. I have normal medium-large size hands (male) and I can't get both hands completely inside the handle. My pinkies ride along the outside. Other kettlebells have a more flared handle that allows your hands to get inside. Also the handle itself is quite large around, much larger than my 70lb kettlebell from a different company. These two issues make my grip less than ideal. Not unworkable, but overall I would prefer a better grip when swinging something this heavy. When I've got this 10lb one, I thought it would be good for my son, but I've had no idea how great this little Kettle-bell is for just when you are sitting around and doing nothing. It's even great for lounges as an extra weight it's a killer for your biceps if you do it for 100 reps with each arm, you will be soar tomorrow I bet, I was, great warm-up for your shoulders, I wouldn't use anything heavier for my shoulders anyway, you can even do shoulder rotation exercises( make sure there are no kids running next to you) triceps, biceps, shoulders, legs, I think I'll get my kid something a bit lighter and keep this one all to myself. And probably get a few a bit heavier. I like the extra wide handle and it doesn't need any plastic coating on it because the weight isn't that heavy and even if it was, with the coating it would have been a bit more slippery, which isn't good for when you throw it and flip it( outside only) I think everyone should get this one at those prices. With all the gym gadgets that I've got collected in my house, this is the one that I actually use and loving it. Why didn't I get this item sooner? Beats me:{I'll have to tell you that I've got a set of 20lb and I use them now for my shoulders, biceps and triceps, also I love to warm up my body with a full body swing with a 50lb for 50+ reps before I would do anything else, it really brings my heart rate up, I've also gotten a 30lb and I use it for one arm shoulder presses and one arm isolating bicep curl. I love the pump and the burn which lasts much longer then with any arm exercises. after months of using them regularly i still don't have any calluses, I love this brand. Extra smooth and non slippery wide handles make those exercises very comfortable to do, without getting my fingers numb. I would love to get all of them as my strength improves with time. For the beginners I would recommend to start with 10 lb and then slowly get into a heavier weight, don't be a macho or you will get injured without a proper warm up. But I love the fact, that I can do most of the exercises without a spotter and still get pretty good form, I'll get another 50lb for my dead-lifts, because the 20 aren't as heavy and I feel funny doing 100 reps just to get a little pump...I know that I should get a pair of 70lb but the price is a bit high for them I think. That's like over $200 for a pair of 70s. I'll wait a bit longer and I will get them anyway one day.Love my kettlebell. These CAP kettlebells are simple but well designed. The handle provides good grip and is perfect for accomodating different hand sizes. You can get different grips for different techniques. The weight is perfectly balanced, so they are effective and this also helps minimize the chance of injury.I like the black enamel coating, aesthetically and practically.I ordered the 45 lb for myself and the 15 lb for my wife. It's a good idea to start with a lower weight, and practice the techniques first. I would recommend trying one out at a gym or store, if you're not sure which weight to get for yourself. There are many techniques, which makes this little piece of equipment a lot of versatility in the different workouts you can perform, depending on which muscle groups you wish to focus on. There are quite a few workouts that work the whole body, such as the basic kettlebell throw (the first one I tried and still my favourite). There are DVDs, YouTube videos, apps (many of them free), which can help you learn different techniques in using the kettlebell.Weight training with a kettlebell can increase your strength, even when you use it for as little as 5-10 minutes a day. It's hard to find something that gives you better value for your money, in terms of building strength. There's a reason the old school Russian wrestlers to throw kettlebells around all day. I don't enjoy doing sets with weights, but kettlebells feel like you're exerting yourself in a more realistic way, so it seems to create a more practical strength (not just to look good).A good cardio workout can be achieved in a short time, using kettlebells, especially when performing the techniques which work the whole body.I can't say enough about working out with kettlebells, and I would recommend the CAP kettlebells to anyone.Kettlebells are becoming like gold now. They are difficult to get and are going up in value. I was really happy to be able to get a decent bell at a good price. It took about 7 weeks to arrive but not worried. If they are available it's worth the wait. This one arrived well package with no scratches or damage and has a great finish. I really wish I ordered 2. This has been a great addition to our home gym and well worth the wait. I would order again no question. The UPS delivery man had a great workout unloading this 80 pounds beast on my doorstep. Keep in mind that 80 pounds is a lot of weight, so review the workouts where you can use it. It is... a minimalist list. Mainly Sumo Deadlifts and Suitcase Carry, which are great exercises for grip and strength. However, if you are looking for a kettlebell that you can do loads of routines with it, buy lighter. 20-30 pounds are more versatile. This being said: I have many CAP kettlebells and they are all fine products for the price you pay. This big fella earns 5 stars on the price/quality ratio. Great bell and delivered to my doorstep free via Prime was an easy buy.I bought this kettlebell used and I was a bit concerned about the condition it would be in. To my surprise, it looked brand new! The box was damaged which was noted before I bought it, but the condition is incredible regardless.I am very happy as this equipment is versatile and I can use it for home work outs. I wish I could order more of different weights! Thank you!I don't know about other places, but in London Ontario, it's rather difficult to find any place that sells kettlebells above 25lbs.I bought this online and am quite happy with it. I am comparing to a 15lb and 25lb from Sportchek. Those were dipped in polyurethane or some other plastic, and the handle was rather rough. This product's handles are smoother (they feel like the surface of a macbook), and I find that my hands are less damaged as a result. Shape is good for majority of kettlebell movements (Swing, Clean, Windmill, Turkish Get-up), however, they are quite difficult (and I would not recommend) to use to elevate your grip with pushups (they have a small base).Only other thing, I was lucky that the delivery guy met up with me, but had that not happened, it would have been brutal picking this thing up.
