I am so happy I tried these towels for both of us. They are thin weave, so they are quick to try in the dryer. They do shrink. I noticed 8% (based on size) of the two I purchased but they are real cotton and NOT microfiber. Both of us are happier with these towels than the Aquis microfiber and that says a lot. The weave does tighten up on the first wash. I wanted a good towel that would dry fast in the dryer. This is the best towel I have and I am buying more.I really wanted to like these but they are really thin. Double the thickness and it would probably be the perfect towel. I think the textile is a little too rough for face cloths though.I bought this product, K25 similar product, Onzen similar product. I have used all of these for 2-3 years. My thoughts over time of these 3 products:1) this product: Thinner and less soft then both Onzen and K25 products. Over use and washings, this product still looks new, and is actually softer than it was when new. This is now my choice as the best towel for me.2) Onzen: Softer, but much more delicate. Over time snags appear in fabric, all of these towels are still useable, but I would guess I will get much less wear out of the Onzen than the Nutrl home towel.3) K25: Was my favorite originally. As soft as Onzen, but had a trimmed edge on all 4 sides, and a tag to hand towel on a peg. This towel is great, fluffy, and soft, but I am concerned about lifespan. Over 2 years of use, I now prefer the nutrl home towel to this towel due to wear issues.Ok talk about absorbent!!! This little towel will blow your mind I thought at first there was no way this cloth was going to dry me after a shower, I have hair down to my tailbone and lots of it so I usually need two towels but not with this towel! You can practically see through these towels which would have been something I wasn't even going to try but they are so soft and I mean I want clothes made out of this material. I was scared to wash them because the material is so fine I was sure they would shrink but they are still the same size, shape, and seriously so soft! I don't normally do soft towels I feel like the waffle texture is the best for towels but thats hardly ever soft. After my shower I dry off normal and then wrap up my hair and it practically sucks the water out of my hair, never has my hair dried so fast out of a shower. Then you would expect the towel to take a while to dry because it is now soaked but no the thinness of the towel makes it dry in just a few hours (this is impressive to me because my last towels took a solid day) I wanted to wait on this review because I felt like I needed time with my new towels to make sure it held true and now 2 months later I am still obsessed and want to recommend them to all of my friends! No gross musty smell because they dry so fast and you will too!!!!I live in a humid environment, and my towels tend to stay damp and start smelling bad after a few months. This washcloth dries off quickly because of the waffle weave and always smells like my soap. It dries quickly in my dryer after I wash it, and it has held up well over the last few months. I'm impressed! I'm not sure if other, similar, towels that are better, but this type of towel works well for me.this towel was purchased on the coattails of the onsen (emperor's new towel) hype of super absorbent and quick drying. we have a bath situation that vexes most towels. by all accounts, this is an identical towel (some other waffle weave towels are not), but still expensive even at almost 1/2 the price of the onsen ($32 vs. $50+). that said, it's a nice towel otherwise. the color/texture is variegated (light/dark mix) which gives it a more luxe appearance than a flat color. it's finished nicely at the edges and is fairly minimal overall (in a good way). ... so, it's a good $32 towel. but my existing (ikea) towels are good at $12, so you have to weigh the empirical cost-benefit.the issue is: it simply isn't magical. per the ads and hype, you'd expect a leprechaun to pop out and pat your back dry, but even after switching to irish-spring soap, no luck. for about $12 (the same price as my existing moderately priced cotton towels), we purchased a waffle weave microfiber towel that is hype-absent, but does dry a good bit quicker and is ultimately more absorbent ... i just don't feel as superior toweling off my backsides with a $12 (vs. $32 towel), though... so, i have to weigh: bathroom-self-image or performance. these might be good in the "guest" bath where the bougie towels might otherwise live. ... or because the luck of the irish is absent, we might send it back.onward.There’s a Nutrl towel laying on top of an Onsen towel in my photos, pre-wash. Appears to be of the same woven fabric & the same yarns, right? In the photos I have the Nutrl towel on the top with an Onsen towel on the bottom because I had been curious about the different products. The Nutrl towel appears to be a non-standard sizing which I am ok with.It washed & dried without much fuss. The drying time between the two towels were identical. If you go with the Nutrl towel and don’t mind the slightly smaller dimensions then you can easily save some money.I deducted a star for a couple of reasons:-For a $35 a towel I was sad that some non-uniform shrinking happened & middle of the towel is skinnier than the ends. (I did launder to manufacturer instructions.)-It irks me when companies make a big deal about using USA grown cotton, only to export it to China for product fabrication.I usually trust Amazon reviews, but cannot understand the positive reviews for these towels. I regretfully ordered two based on those reviews. These towels are neither absorbent or quick drying and no where near worth the price. Plenty of better options out there.Love this soft, luxurious towel. Just the right size and softness. I found it a bit pricey but well worth it in the end.
