John Favreau directs the first ever feature based on the famous Marvel character created by Stan Lee. Having seen the film, I was very eager to get the original soundtrack to it; in my opinion, other than with "X-3: The Last Stand" and the "Blade" trilogy few of the soundtracks for Marvel's films have been particularly noteworthy versus the now-iconic John Williams scores for the "Superman" films and Danny Elfman's moody "Batman" soundtracks."Iron Man" has a soundtrack that easily matches the film itself in terms of being surprisingly well-done and epic; per the expected "Iron Man" tune from the '70s the entire album has a strong heavy metal / rock motif to it which is fitting, yet gets very dramatic when needed. I was especially surprised, after hearing a modern version of it several times during the "Tony Stark, Playboy" scenes, that the very last selection on the CD is the original "Iron Man" theme from the old 1966 "Marvel Superheroes" TV show; hopefully, now that Marvel is now personally handling its movies, such "easter eggs" will continue to pop up. Grade A+, Outstanding
