The pieces all fit together like they were supposed to, except for the trim at the bottom. Turns out the two small pre-drilled holes for the left side mitered trim pieces at the bottom of the cabinet weren't quite exactly in the right place, which caused the front trim piece to not match up flush to the cabinet at that bottom left corner. The holes were only off about 1/8th inch, but that's a lot when it comes to trimwork which is a precision finishing touch. But once I diagnosed the problem, it was super easy to just make two new holes and get all the trim at the bottom to fit exactly right. Overall, I really like this bookcase, it's quite sturdy, seems to be of high quality, and it's gotten a lot of complements from my coworkers. The openings are just wide enough to hold legal folders, which I guess makes sense given the "Barrister Lane" name. As far as assembly, pay very close attention to the excellent instructions and especially the pictures of the 6 trimwork pieces as they're definitely not interchangeable from left to right, top to bottom. It took me about 4 hours and 2 adult beverages to assemble. I could have gone faster if I'd wanted to, but I wasn't in a hurry. Unless you're already in the construction industry, I do recommend wearing gloves for all the hand screwdriving you need to do. Your palms will thank you.TERRIBLE SHIPPING EXPERIENCEFor some reason, Amazon charged me for this along with everything else that I ordered. Then they gave the 200 back, then 2 weeks later when it shipped they took it out again. It says that it ships within 2-3 days. NO IT DOES NOT. It said that it shipped the very day that I ordered it, but it had not. They overdrafted my account because I thought that I had already paid for it, and now I owe hundreds in overdraft fees. THANKS AMAZON.QUALITY OF PRODUCTThe bookshelf itself is nice and matches all my other sauder pieces. I had more trouble with this one than my other Sauder pieces however. Getting the brackets for the top and bottom moldings was tricky and created a small gap that bothers me.One advantage to this furniture is that you can take the furniture apart and put it back together which is really intelligent design. It does come with a safety strap to anchor it to the wall and the weight that it can hold is impressive.Someone had mentioned that they could not tighten the tag plates on the shelf, that is completely untrue. It is secured and that customer evidently missed the step. I almost did! But when I figured it out I was able to take it apart and secure them properly. This bookshelf is a beast. No way is it accidentally tipping over. Putting it together is easier with two peopleThis bookcase has the best instructions for putting it together that I have ever seen. It is also very important that you follow them all. The company also has an excellent video which walks you through each step. It took my husband and I several hours to put it together but then we are both almost 70 and most things take us longer. The bookcase is made out of press board but it is a very high quality press board. All of the pieces fit together and were clearly marked. I did have to do one part over 3 times because I am so smart that I jumped ahead. My husband made me read the instruction for that section. It appears there is up side to those little paper holders on the shelves. This keeps the paper tabs from falling out. We are very happy with the finished product.Arrived undamaged and not missing any parts. Took about 3 hours for me and my husband to put it together. For the most part, it went together well. The molding around the base and the top were hard to line up just right. As much as we tried, we couldn't get the corners of the top to line up perfectly, so there is a gap there which kind of bothers me when I look at it. It's heavy. And the picture makes it look like you're getting something made of solid wood that would have a texture/grain to it, but in fact it's particle board covered with smooth plastic to make it look like wood. So it's easier to clean and dust, but loses some of that rustic charm of real wood. Overall I like the book case, but I'm not sure I would have bought it at this price point if I had seen a display in person due to the wood not being "real".I put this in my walk in closet as my clothes dresser for socks, undies and such. Looks great and the compartments work extremely well for this. And very easy to assemble. Was not impressed with the cardboard back to it and it was a bit flimsy, but after attaching three 1" x 2" strips of wood along the back from top to bottom it is now extremely secure and stable and the back piece looks like wood. Should last quite a long time. I would purchase from this company again.First off, I am very picky and have expensive taste but a small budget. This was perfect! It doesn't look cheap and was SUPER easy to assemble. It is HEAVY though so keep that in mind. The tracking page listed the package at 120lbs in the box. The box was really well packaged though so all the pieces were in great shape. The instructions were incredibly well written and easy to follow. It was almost impossible to make a mistake because each page has clear instructions with pictures and everything in the box was labelled. I will 100% be ordering from this company again.Looks great once put together. Has safety hook up to wall, so it can not be pulled over.I blame a lot of it on the shipping company .When they brought ,nobody was home and they just left it there, then I noticed a big damage which was done by shipping. For one person I found it difficult to put it together. The quality of the wood was good. The instructions were done well ,it is just that the wood was not well identified on some of them.Brought this when it was on sale(around $240 CDN). Although the backboard is a little thinner than I expected, after assembling it turned out great!!!
